Comtech: Expands high-speed DIA services across Congo

  • Comtech is scaling its DIA network to support reliable enterprise connectivity in Congo’s urban centres.
  • The company is leveraging fibre and microwave tech to overcome infrastructure challenges in underserved regions.

Comtech: DIA network drives enterprise connectivity

Comtech, a prominent Congolese ICT firm, is expanding its Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) services to meet rising demand for high-reliability connectivity among businesses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Tailored for SMEs, banks, and telecom operators, Comtech’s DIA offering delivers symmetrical speeds, low latency, and Service Level Agreements that appeal to mission-critical operations. The network leverages both fibre and microwave links to ensure uptime in cities like Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, and Goma.

With DIA deployment still uneven across the country, Comtech’s investment in core and last-mile infrastructure addresses the need for quality bandwidth in a market with limited national fibre. As per company documentation, service availability is enhanced by 24/7 support and proactive monitoring, which have become essential amid regional network instability. Key sectors such as fintech, education, and logistics are driving uptake of dedicated links, particularly for cloud-based and VoIP applications.

Comtech: Innovation and local investment define Comtech’s strategy

Founded in 2011, Comtech positions itself as a long-term partner for digital transformation in the DRC. The company focuses on building infrastructure and custom services that suit local conditions, rather than relying on imported one-size-fits-all solutions. This includes in-house system integration, hybrid wireless-fibre deployments, and solar-powered site operations to maintain availability in areas with inconsistent power supply.

One of the industry’s major challenges remains Congo’s limited terrestrial fibre footprint and power grid. Comtech mitigates this through hybrid technologies and strategic use of metro wireless to reach clients in high-demand zones. With a local team and ongoing technical training, Comtech also aims to reduce dependency on external engineering support—key for long-term sustainability.

In a region where digital infrastructure gaps persist, Comtech’s approach reflects both pragmatism and ambition. While connectivity bottlenecks remain a reality, solutions like DIA are gradually reshaping the enterprise internet landscape in Congo.
