• Through expanded rail-road corridors and digital integration, the firm strengthens regional supply-chain resilience across Southern Africa.

C. Steinweg Bridge Pty Ltd meets logistical headwinds

Formerly known as Bridge Shipping, C. Steinweg Bridge Pty Ltd seems a proud member of the C. Steinweg Group providing ocean freight, warehousing, customs clearance, project-cargo, and clearing-and-forwarding services through Southern and Eastern Africa. The company, that’s over four decades of experience in Sub-Saharan logistics, takes on a range of provides that arise in regional transportation, such as the shortage of containers, variations of freight rates, and the challenge of moving products from landlocked mines via constrained routes.

In order to ensure more efficient cargo flows and lower the strain on infrastructure, its strategy places a high priority on regional supply-chain resilience. It is based on bi-directional rail-road corridors that connect ports and mining hubs. A 2017 fire that ruined Durban’s handling precinct laid out an unanticipated whim.C. Steinweg Bridge rebuilt with a cutting-edge 60,000 m² fertiliser facility, equipped with automation that reduces touchpoints and preserves product integrity. This commitment to logistics innovation not only enhanced throughput but also improved the quality of products delivered to farmers — a strategic response to past challenges and a forward-looking leap in warehousing technology.
