    • The company provides fibre, wireless WAN, VOIP, CCTV backhaul and network design.
    • It faces infrastructure hurdles but adapts with hybrid networks and redundancy models.

Bitstream Internet Solutions strengthens its role

Based in Walvis Bay, Bitstream Internet Solutions (Pty) Ltd offers connectivity solutions ranging from fibre and wireless broadband to VOIP telephony and wireless WAN. It also designs networks and provides backhaul for CCTV and off-site backup systems (Bitstream official site).

The company is part of Paratus Namibia Holdings, a telecoms group licensed by the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia. This gives Bitstream both operational stability and access to infrastructure investments across the region. Its LinkedIn profile highlights a strategy built on adaptability and customer service.

    Why this is important

Namibia faces persistent hurdles in internet development: high capital expenditure, a sparse population and limited ICT skills. According to the International Telecommunication Union, such conditions increase the cost per user, making affordable broadband a national challenge.

Bitstream’s hybrid model — mixing fibre, wireless WAN and recovery links — ensures resilience for businesses and communities. Together with Paratus, the company adds credibility and capacity to Namibia’s connectivity landscape.
