BCN provides personal banking, SME financing, and corporate lending. It offers saving and deposit products and credit lines to individuals and businesses.

The bank also supports diaspora clients with tailored remittance services. BCN delivers digital services via an online banking platform. It serves public and private sector customers with secure financial tools. The bank focuses on transparency, local relevance, and customer trust. It operates under the oversight of the central bank in Praia.

    Infrastructure, governance and growth indicators

BCN maintains a network of branches across Praia, Mindelo, São Vicente, Sal, Espargos and other centres. It opened a new branch in Sucupira in early 2025 to improve access in the capital. The bank is majority‑owned by Cape Verdean insurer IMPAR, with additional investors that include the national Red Cross and private stakeholders. BCN reported net profits of approximately €4.7 million in 2022, a nearly 17 percent increase from the previous year. It was ranked the third most systemically important bank in Cape Verde by the central bank.

The bank executed outreach initiatives to serve the diaspora community, including promotional visits to communities in the United States in 2025. BCN aims to position itself as Cape Verde’s leading commercial bank, combining local ownership, financial performance, and national presence.
