Africa Online widens its ICT footprint

Headquartered in Windhoek, Africa Online delivers a broad set of internet and ICT services. Its offerings cover home fibre, business leased lines, VPNs, MPLS, VSAT backup, email, Microsoft 365 and hardware procurement. (Africa Online)

The company’s LinkedIn page notes expansion into cybersecurity and cloud services, aligning with Namibia’s growing appetite for secure digital platforms. It also cites projects aimed at boosting connectivity in schools and community centres. (LinkedIn)

    Why this is important

For Namibia, digital transformation requires strong internet infrastructure. Africa Online reduces dependency on external links by providing local VPN and MPLS circuits, ensuring enterprises enjoy stable and secure performance.

Sector challenges persist, including high deployment costs, evolving compliance obligations and a limited pool of ICT talent. Innovation is advancing nonetheless: hybrid fibre-LTE networks, cloud-native systems and backup redundancy models are reshaping the market. Africa Online’s diversified services make it a key contributor to this evolution.
