These include locations such as JohaAfrica Data Centres operates the largest interconnected data centre network across Africa. It owns and manages purpose‑built facilities in major business hubs. These include locations such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Nairobi and Lagos. The company is fully carrier‑neutral and cloud‑neutral at every site. Its facilities meet Tier III standards and hold ISO 27001 and PCI DSS certifications. Each centre is built with high standards of physical security. They use biometric access, CCTV and multi‑layer perimeter controls.

The company employs experienced engineers and team members. They bring international expertise to local African markets. The parent organisation operates fibre networks across multiple countries. The firm also develops robust partnerships. It connects to over fifty leading carriers across its data centres. Internet exchanges such as JINX, CINX and KIXP link directly within its sites. The carrier‑neutral model allows clients to interconnect multiple networks quickly. This model reduces dependency on single providers and boosts redundancy.

Services, capacity and expansion

Africa Data Centres offers a range of services including colocation, managed hosting, cloud support, disaster recovery and remote‑hands support. It also provides cross‑connects, rack hardware, workspace and staging areas. Clients access flexible options from single racks to entire cages or private suites. The company bills energy usage by bundled or metered models. It also enables business continuity workspace for clients’ staff in emergencies. Remote Hands support includes emergency and routine tasks on site.

The company secured over USD 109 million in financing in 2024 to expand its capacity in South Africa. This funding supports a 20 MW scale‑up in data centre power and operational infrastructure. Expansion plans include up to ten new hyperscale data centres across Africa. These sites will increase connectivity and capacity in markets such as Ghana, Rwanda and Togo. The company focuses on sustainability. It adopts solar power, water processing and energy efficiency. It implements green building standards aligned with environmental impact goals. These actions support long‑term infrastructure growth while minimising carbon footprint.
