Accelerit Technologies PTY LTD: Growth from reseller to ISP
Accelerit Technologies PTY LTD was founded in 2013 as a small internet reseller in a shared office. It recorded R72 000 in revenue in its first year, yet by 2020 turnover exceeded R50 million. The company expanded its offices to new provinces and secured international data centre capacity. This growth increased its market presence and strengthened its position as a connectivity provider in South Africa.
The company focuses on affordable connectivity products under a “no frills no fuss” model. It first trialled wireless to the home hybrid solutions in Midrand, Tembisa and Newcastle. Later it launched fibre-to-the-home in Rivonia and now runs as both fibre network operator and internet service provider. This dual structure allows it to deliver fast and symmetrical broadband at competitive prices while scaling across different regions.

Accelerit Technologies PTY LTD: Rural focus and new innovations
Accelerit Technologies PTY LTD has built a Secondary Cities Initiative to connect towns such as Pietermaritzburg, Richards Bay and Potchefstroom. It works with fibre operators and resellers to expand coverage. In Mokopane the company helped a local telecom operator serve more than 3 700 homes, supporting job creation and extending digital access to households.
In 2024 Accelerit partnered with a satellite provider to offer uncapped VSAT services in rural communities. Hundreds of schools, homes and businesses are already linked, with a goal of 1 000 active sites by mid-2024. This approach responds to South Africa’s challenge where less than 1 % of rural households have fixed-line access. It also supports economic growth by enabling e-learning, healthcare through telemedicine and modern agriculture using digital tools.
