    • The DGDA has alerted the public to ignore fake auction announcements circulating on social media.
    • These fraudulent communications falsely claim upcoming car auctions in August, with subscription fees of USD 100 and USD 200.

The Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DGDA) has issued a public warning regarding fake communications circulating on social media. These false announcements mention car auctions supposedly taking place in August 2024, with associated subscription fees. The DGDA urges the public to rely solely on official channels for accurate information.

Public alert on fake auction communications

The DGDA has identified two false communications that are misleading the public into believing there will be car auctions on 15th and 17th August 2024. These messages, spreading via social media, suggest that individuals must pay USD 100 or USD 200 to participate in these auctions. The DGDA has made it clear that these messages are scams created by unscrupulous individuals and has urged the public to disregard them. To avoid falling victim to such scams, the DGDA advises the public to seek information exclusively from the official channels listed on its website.

“The DGDA advises the public not to trust these announcements, which are the work of dishonest individuals. We urge everyone to refer to the DGDA’s official channels for all relevant information.”
