Singapore-based telecommunications provider M1 and global telecommunications leader Ericsson have joined forces to enhance the capacity and performance of M1’s IP and microwave networks. This trailblasing partnership introduces the AI-powered Ericsson Transport Automation Controller, marking the world’s first live network deployment combining IP and microwave networks with cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities.
M1 is set to undertake a proof of concept (PoC) for both IP and microwave use cases by the end of 2024. The initiative aims to strengthen 5G capabilities, ensuring a high-performance 5G Standalone (SA) network with improved bandwidth, reduced latency, and enhanced connectivity resilience.
