    ARIN 53 conference set to take place in Bridgetown, Barbados

    • ARIN 53, set in Bridgetown, Barbados, from April 14-17, 2024, will bring together stakeholders for discussions on internet governance and policy.
    • The event will include a virtual Meeting Orientation on April 9, keynote speeches, and public policy discussions covering various policy updates and recommendations.
    • Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in discussions led by experts like Brent Mc Intosh, addressing crucial topics such as digital infrastructure development in the Caribbean and policy updates affecting internet regulation.

    The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) is gearing up for its ARIN 53 conference, scheduled to be held in Bridgetown, Barbados, from April 14 to 17, 2024. The spring Public Policy and Members Meeting will be hosted at the Hilton Barbados Resort and virtually via the Zoom webinar platform.

    A virtual Meeting Orientation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9, at 2:00 PM ET, aiming to guide participants on maximising their experience during ARIN 53. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP for the Meeting Orientation during the registration process.

    Brent Mc Intosh will address the keynote

    The conference will kick off on Monday morning with a keynote address by Brent Mc Intosh, Chief Technology Officer of MCNET-SOLUTIONS. Mc Intosh will delve into discussions on building and sustaining digital infrastructure in the Caribbean, focusing on Internet exchange points and IPv6 technology’s role in driving economic success in the region.

    There will be public policy discussions

    A significant theme of ARIN 53 will be the public policy discussions, featuring five Recommended Draft Policies and four Draft Policies, scheduled for Monday, April 15, and Tuesday, April 16. The agenda includes discussions on policy updates such as Direct Assignment Language Update, Modernisation of Registration Requirements, and WHOIS Data Requirements Policy for Non-Personal Information, among others.
