    • Cisco to power a large-scale AI cluster in the UAE using AMD MI350X GPUs.
    • The partnership aims to close AI infrastructure gaps in the UAE and support the nation’s digital transformation.

What happened: Cisco and G42 expand AI infrastructure collaboration in the UAE

Cisco and G42 have announced an expanded collaboration to advance secure AI infrastructure in the UAE, marking a significant development in the US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership. Cisco will power, connect, and secure a large-scale AI cluster deployed by G42, incorporating advanced AMD MI350X GPUs to support AI workloads. The collaboration will leverage Cisco’s full-stack AI infrastructure, including compute, networking, security, storage, and observability tools, designed to deliver scalable performance and enhanced management for the UAE’s AI-driven initiatives.

This partnership is aligned with the broader goals of the US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership, a program designed to advance technology cooperation between the two countries. The initiative builds on flagship projects such as the 1GW Stargate UAE cluster and the 5GW UAE-US AI technology campus announced during President Trump’s state visit in May 2025.

Cisco’s role will also include acting as the technology integrator for G42’s Regulated Technology Environment (RTE), ensuring compliance with the highest levels of security, transparency, and governance. The aim is to create AI infrastructure that not only drives innovation but also protects sensitive data and prevents misuse.

    Why it’s important

The collaboration reflects the UAE’s ambitious digital transformation goals, with AI poised to play a central role in the country’s economic and technological growth. According to Cisco’s research, 92% of UAE organisations plan to deploy AI agents, but only a quarter have robust GPU capacity. This partnership seeks to bridge this gap, providing the necessary AI infrastructure to foster innovation and position the UAE as a global leader in AI development.

The partnership is also significant for its emphasis on secure, sovereign AI infrastructure, with Cisco and G42 aiming to deliver scalable, AI-ready data centres equipped to support a wide range of AI-driven applications. The infrastructure will also enable real-time processing at the edge, ensuring the UAE can keep pace with rapidly evolving AI technologies.

This expansion of the US-UAE AI Acceleration Partnership showcases how international collaborations are shaping the future of AI, with Cisco and G42 committed to providing secure and high-performance infrastructure to meet the demands of tomorrow’s AI innovations.
