    • TTCL is Tanzania’s state-owned telecom operator, providing fixed line, broadband, mobile, and data centre services.
    • The company supports residential, enterprise, and government clients with nationwide ICT infrastructure.

    Comprehensive telecom solutions across Tanzania

TTCL, founded in 1993 and operational since 1994, is Tanzania’s largest and oldest fixed-line operator. It originated from the split of the Tanzania Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (TP&TC) and has grown into a multi-service ICT provider. Fully owned by the Tanzanian government since 2016, TTCL plays a pivotal role in national communication development, helping to shape policies and standards for the country’s ICT sector.

The company operates a nationwide fibre network and offers services including broadband internet, mobile solutions, VoIP, and data centre hosting. It actively participates in the National ICT Broadband Backbone (NICTBB), aiming to connect all 33 regions of Tanzania and ensure equitable access to high-speed internet. TTCL’s enterprise offerings, such as SIP trunking, IP VPNs, and managed network services, provide government agencies, businesses, and other institutions with reliable and secure connectivity, strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure.

    Driving innovation and digital transformation

Innovation is central to TTCL’s strategy, underpinning its expansion of services and technologies. The company has developed platforms such as T-PESA, enabling mobile payments, bill payments, and top-ups, supporting financial inclusion and digital transactions across Tanzania. These services are designed to integrate with mobile, broadband, and enterprise networks, ensuring seamless connectivity for both individual and business users.

TTCL also focuses on enhancing customer experience through online portals for account management, service requests, fault reporting, and fibre applications. By combining technical infrastructure with digital solutions, TTCL ensures accessibility, reliability, and scalability. Its continuous investment in network expansion, system monitoring, and customer support demonstrates a commitment to driving the nation’s digital transformation. Through its services, TTCL empowers individuals, businesses, and public institutions to participate fully in Tanzania’s digital economy while reinforcing the country’s role in the regional ICT landscape.
