  • 5G and AI are central to Brazil’s digital transformation, with AI being essential for efficient network management and automation.
  • Sustainability is crucial, with the telecom sector focusing on energy-efficient solutions and the integration of renewable energy in telecom infrastructure.

FUTURECOM 2025 took place from September 30 to October 2, 2025, at the São Paulo Expo, gathering thousands of industry leaders, telecom operators, and tech innovators from across Brazil and Latin America. The event focused on the rapidly evolving digital infrastructure landscape, with key discussions around 5G technology, AI-powered networks, cloud services, and sustainability.

What the conference revealed

The event kicked off with keynote speeches addressing the future of connectivity in Brazil and LATAM, highlighting the role of 5G in accelerating digital transformation across industries. Discussions also centered on AI-driven network management, edge computing, and data centre innovations that are enabling more efficient and scalable infrastructure.

Several panels explored the challenges of expanding 5G networks to meet rising demand while keeping costs and energy consumption in check. The event also highlighted the importance of sustainability in telecom operations, with experts discussing green technologies and energy-efficient network solutions.

With over 1,500 professionals attending, the agenda included deep dives into cloud infrastructure, 5G rollout strategies, and the integration of AI into telecom networks. Sessions also examined how data centre providers are embracing sustainability while scaling operations to meet growing demands for high-speed connectivity.

How the event played out

Speakers emphasised that 5G and AI are key to Brazil’s future digital economy. AI was seen as essential for optimising network operations, enhancing latency reduction, and enabling real-time decision-making. In addition, the role of edge computing in low-latency applications was discussed as a critical enabler of future 5G infrastructure.

Sustainability was a consistent theme, with discussions on how the telecom sector can reduce its carbon footprint and implement renewable energy solutions for data centres and network infrastructure. Telecom operators and tech firms shared their plans for integrating clean energy solutions, such as solar power and wind energy, into their operations to meet environmental goals.

Attendees also made valuable connections during the event, with many discussions focused on creating collaborative networks that will drive digital inclusion and ensure that high-speed connectivity reaches underserved regions across Brazil and LATAM.
