What happened: ARIN publishes full candidate list and election timeline

ARIN has published the full slate of candidates for its 2025 elections. The slate includes nominees for three seats on the Board of Trustees, five on the Advisory Council (AC), and one on the Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC). The candidates were assessed via ARIN’s Nomination Committee and an independent third-party vendor. One candidate for the Board, Richard Gayle, has withdrawn from consideration.

Voting will take place online between 3:00 PM ET on Thursday, 30 October and 7:00 PM ET on Friday, 7 November 2025. Terms for winners begin on 1 January 2026. ARIN has made candidate biographies, Statements of Support, and questionnaire responses available in advance. All nominees have been given chance to engage the community via prerecorded speeches and a virtual candidate forum. ARIN follows the Election Processes outlined in its bylaws and public policy documents.

    Why it’s important

The detailed candidate slate and transparent timeline reinforce ARIN’s commitment to sound, accountable governance. General Members must be eligible to vote under the rules defined in ARIN’s Bylaws and Election Processes, which include assessments by independent vendors and oversight from the ARIN Board Election Officer. These steps help assure members that nominees meet the qualifications before appearing on the ballot.

By opening Statements of Support and hosting candidate forums, ARIN gives voters tools to assess experience, track record and contributions. Such exposure is key under global standards of governance such as those promoted by the Number Resource Organization (NRO) and multistakeholder Internet policy bodies. Clear deadlines and accessible voting windows enable broad member participation, particularly for organisations operating across dispersed geographies.
