Airtel Xtelify unveils digital stack to push enterprise transformation

    • Airtel’s new digital arm Xtelify offers a unified digital stack for Indian businesses to modernise operations and customer engagement.
    • The platform consolidates cloud, connectivity, AI, and security tools to compete with global enterprise tech players.

What happened: Airtel launches Xtelify to unify enterprise digital services

Bharti Airtel’s technology subsidiary, Xtelify, has launched a new platform designed to support Indian enterprises in accelerating digital transformation. The suite combines core telecom infrastructure with tools spanning cloud, cybersecurity, generative AI, data analytics, and customer experience technologies. It was officially announced through a press release on 5 August 2025.

Airtel stated that Xtelify has already signed over 250 customers, and the platform aims to offer an integrated solution as opposed to the fragmented service models currently in place across industries. It promises to deliver outcomes such as improved customer journeys and enhanced automation, with support from Airtel’s network and data centre infrastructure. Ajay Chitkara, Airtel’s Director and CEO of Airtel Business, said that Xtelify will serve as a “one-stop-shop” for digital transformation.

    Why this is important

Xtelify’s entry into the enterprise services market signals Airtel’s growing ambition to position itself as more than a telecoms provider. By combining its connectivity backbone with services often offered by firms like TCS, Infosys, and AWS, Airtel is now directly challenging large IT and cloud providers in India’s competitive digital transformation market. The timing coincides with a broader shift, where Indian enterprises are increasingly prioritising AI-driven automation, data security, and hybrid cloud strategies to stay competitive.

The move also follows a trend seen across telcos globally—telco-to-tech pivoting. For instance, Telefónica’s Tech division and Singtel’s NCS are already pursuing similar hybrid service models in their home markets. Airtel’s advantage lies in its existing enterprise relationships, network scale, and local regulatory knowledge. However, success will depend on execution, especially in attracting talent and competing on service innovation.
