IQGeo completes Deepomatic acquisition powering networks

    • Acquisition finalised on 4 August 2025, with Virgin Media O2 as an early adopter
    • AI-driven field verification and continuous digital twins position IQGeo at the vanguard of predictive, agent-driven networks

What happened: IQGeo has formally closed the acquisition of Deepomatic

On 4 August 2025, IQGeo, the Cambridge based geospatial software specialist for telecom and utility operators, announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Deepomatic, an AI computer vision platform provider. The deal brings Deepomatic’s AI capabilities—used to analyse photos taken by field engineers for automated quality control and task verification—fully under the IQGeo umbrella.

Deepomatic’s technology, already in use by operators such as Virgin Media O2, enables realtime validation of field work, drastically reducing manual checks and enhancing operational efficiency. With integration now built into IQGeo’s Network Manager solutions, operators can maintain continuously updated, photo verified digital twins of their physical networks.

    Why it’s important

This acquisition marks a pivotal moment in the telecommunications and utilities sectors. According to IQGeo CEO Richard Petti, AI-captured field imagery is “the fuel for tomorrow’s intelligent network models,” laying the groundwork for systems that increasingly manage themselves—from planning and build to ongoing operations. With predictive capabilities and agent-based decision-making emerging on the horizon, manual interventions are likely to decrease significantly.

Operators can expect clear efficiency gains, including reduced re-work, fewer back-office audits, faster service activation, and improved customer satisfaction. Deepomatic’s platform processes nearly 20 million jobs annually, supporting over 30,000 daily field users, giving IQGeo instant, proven global deployment experience.

Following IQGeo’s investment from KKR in September 2024, the acquisition strengthens IQGeo’s innovation and global reach. It also reflects the broader industry shift: utility grid modernisation and fibre roll-out increasingly demand robust documentation, accuracy, and interoperable systems. By combining geospatial and visual AI under one roof, IQGeo can better address consolidation, auditability, and operational intelligence needs.

IQGeo and Deepomatic are now working to embed Deepomatic’s “Lens” AI into field workflows worldwide. With new capabilities like instant feedback for technicians, integrated training loops, and continuous network documentation, the merged solution is set to redefine efficiency standards. AI agents capable of not just recommending, but executing decisions autonomously, are next on the roadmap—bringing fully agentified networks within sight.
