    • SEACOM operates Africa’s pioneering submarine cable and extensive fibre networks, delivering wholesale and enterprise connectivity solutions across the continent.
    • With acquisitions, innovation, and global partnerships, SEACOM supports Africa’s digital transformation, cloud adoption, and international connectivity.

    SEACOM: Pan-African submarine cable leader

SEACOM, launched in 2009, pioneered Africa’s first broadband submarine cable system, linking South Africa to Europe and Asia. Its undersea fibre-optic cable transformed African connectivity, enabling high-speed, low-latency internet access across the continent. Today, SEACOM operates terrestrial and subsea networks covering Southern, East, and West Africa, providing cross-border solutions and international capacity.

SEACOM: Comprehensive enterprise and wholesale services

SEACOM serves telecom carriers, ISPs, and enterprise customers with solutions like wavelength services, Ethernet, IP/MPLS, cloud connectivity, DDoS mitigation, and SD-WAN. Its enterprise division offers direct internet, cloud optimisation, VPNs, and cybersecurity, helping businesses scale across Africa’s fast-growing digital markets.

    SEACOM: Expansion, acquisitions, and innovation

SEACOM has expanded through strategic acquisitions, including FibreCo and Hirani Telecom, enhancing its fibre reach in South Africa and Kenya. It has also invested in edge nodes and points of presence (PoPs) in major African cities, plus key hubs like Marseille, London, and Mumbai. Through innovation in SDN and cloud services, SEACOM is positioning itself to meet rising demand for AI, cloud, and OTT applications.

    SEACOM: Challenges and opportunities

Africa’s digital landscape faces challenges such as infrastructure gaps, affordability, and regulatory differences. SEACOM addresses these by building scalable, carrier-neutral networks and partnering with hyperscalers, cloud providers, and local operators to expand access. Its investments help bridge the connectivity divide and support economic growth across sectors.
