What happened: BDx and Anyon bring quantum AI to SIN1 data centre

BDx Data Centers has signed an MoU with Anyon Technologies to launch Southeast Asia’s first hybrid quantum AI testbed at its Paya Lebar SIN1 facility. The testbed combines QPUs, GPUs and CPUs in a single platform. It is now available for startups, enterprises and government agencies to explore quantum-enhanced AI applications.

The site will feature AI-driven optimisation systems, including Singapore’s first AI-powered digital twin. It seeks to reduce energy use by around 20 percent through smart cooling and automation. BDx said the pilot supports Singapore’s Green 2030 and national tech goals. Both organisations will develop the testbed before expanding the hybrid model to markets in Indonesia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Why it’s important

The testbed marks a key milestone for Southeast Asia in quantum‑AI infrastructure. It gives local developers access to advanced computing tools at scale. This may accelerate breakthroughs in finance, healthcare, logistics and scientific research. Embedding the testbed within a high‑efficiency data centre shows how next‑gen computing can meet sustainability goals.

Projects aligned to regional government strategies may gain from this shared platform. Offering the testbed to diverse stakeholders may foster cross‑sector collaboration and ecosystem growth in the region.
