What happened: EE adds Stream Mode to improve at‑home streaming

EE added Stream Mode to its WiFi Enhancer package. Users can switch it on in the EE app. The mode puts streaming apps first. It covers major services like Prime Video and TNT Sports. The mode applies to uploads too. This helps Twitch and YouTube live streams. EE already offers Game Mode and Work Mode. Now all three modes can work at once.

Stream Mode will reach all eligible customers soon. It works with Smart Hub Plus or Pro routers. Households with busy networks should see less buffering. Luciano Oliveira, EE’s Director of Product for Home & TV, said the mode gives users more control and smarter broadband.

Why it’s important

This mode meets the need for better streaming quality at home. It gives users a focused way to handle entertainment demand. Many homes run multiple devices at once. Without this mode, video performance can drop. Internet users now expect smooth playback as standard. The feature may reduce complaints about buffering during boxsets or live sport.

It supports EE’s aim of smarter broadband. It also helps EE stay ahead in a crowded market. Users want flexible network tools that adapt to their needs. Stream Mode may set a new standard for residential WiFi services.
