Looking for your next career move? You might just find it on X. Last month, an app researcher uncovered X’s plans to take on the professional social media network giant, Microsoft’s LinkedIn, by introducing job posting capabilities on its platform.
X as a Job Platform for Verified Companies
X, formerly known as Twitter, was working on a feature that would allow verified organizations to integrate job postings from their applicant tracking systems or XML feeds into their Twitter profiles.
It appears that X is indeed going ahead with this initiative. In a recent article, the company’s new @Hiring account officially announced the beta testing of the X Hiring feature. Interested organizations that have been verified on X can now apply to join the beta testing phase
Testing Stage Going on Track
While the feature is still in its testing stage, some accounts on the platform have already started posting job openings. Notably, Vercel has posted job listings on its profile.
It seems that, at the moment, anyone who can represent a verified organization and have access to the beta, can already start posting job openings on the platform.
Although this feature may not offer the same comprehensive capabilities as LinkedIn, it does provide businesses with another avenue to advertise job openings. There’s already a looming discontent over the quality of job posts. Many companies are looking beyond the usual marketing posts. This move is also another step in X’s ambitious journey towards becoming the all-encompassing app envisioned by its CEO, Elon Musk. While X aims to challenge LinkedIn and become your go-to destination for job hunting, Threads has just officially launched its web application earlier this week.
