5G and AI integration dominate conference dialogue

Singapore, 27 May 2025 – CommunicAsia 2025 officially opened today at Singapore EXPO, drawing telecom operators, infrastructure providers and tech innovators from across Asia and beyond. As a key pillar of Asia Tech x Singapore (ATxSG), the event puts 5G monetisation and AI-driven infrastructure at the heart of its agenda.

Kicking off the morning at CommunicAsia Stage, Chetan Krishnamurthy, Vice President of Ecosystem and Digital Sales at IBM APAC, delivered a compelling keynote titled “AI: The Engine of Modern Enterprises.” He outlined how IBM Embeddable AI enables businesses to accelerate innovation with flexibility, security, and built-in governance. Krishnamurthy emphasised the importance of integrating AI at the core of commercial solutions to drive automation, enhance decision-making, and maintain responsible deployment at scale.

Backed by IBM’s technical expertise and go-to-market support, the approach empowers enterprises to unlock productivity gains and achieve long-term competitive advantage through AI. His message was clear: responsible, scalable AI is no longer optional—it’s the foundation of enterprise success.

Sustainability and satellite innovation share the spotlight

Beyond AI and connectivity, CommunicAsia 2025 is placing a strong emphasis on sustainable digital transformation. A dedicated track on “Sustainability and Satellite” brought together industry experts to discuss energy-efficient networks and the expanding role of LEO satellite solutions in bridging underserved areas across Asia-Pacific.

On the exhibition floor, global and regional players—including LARUS, NEXCOM, WiseChip, and Acceleronix—showcased innovations ranging from IP resource solutions and smart IoT systems to advanced edge compute modules and next-gen displays tailored for smart cities and industrial automation.

Running until 29 May, the event features over 350 exhibitors and dozens of expert panels, reinforcing Singapore’s position as a hub for telecom and tech innovation. As AI, 5G, and sustainability priorities converge, CommunicAsia continues to set the agenda for Asia’s digital infrastructure evolution.
