  • The UK-first initiative targets firms in Birmingham and Bristol, two cities with strong 5G coverage and growing business sectors

What happened: 30-day eSIM trial launched for businesses

Three UK has introduced a new 30-day eSIM trial for businesses. The offer allows companies to test its 5G network alongside their existing service, using a dual-SIM setup. This lets firms compare coverage and speeds directly without ending any current contracts.

The trial is initially available in Birmingham and Bristol. Together, these cities host more than 50,000 businesses across financial services, tech, aerospace, and media sectors. According to Three, they were chosen for their rapid growth and the provider’s near-complete 5G coverage in both outdoor and indoor locations.

Why it’s important

Businesses are often reluctant to switch mobile networks due to concerns about service quality. Even when coverage maps look promising, real-life performance can vary. By offering this free eSIM trial, Three gives decision-makers a simple way to compare services under real conditions.

Snehal Bhudia, Director of Three Business, said the initiative helps companies make informed choices with confidence. Analyst Ian Fogg from CCS Insight agrees, highlighting the productivity risks that come with unreliable networks. Combined with a low-cost unlimited SIM-only plan at $22/month, Three is positioning itself as a strong value-focused alternative for UK firms.
