  • New CFO and CTIO appointments follow recent acquisition of Aqua Comms

New executives signal EXA’s ambitions in global fibre

Exa Infrastructure, a key player in global digital infrastructure, has strengthened its executive team with three high-profile appointments to support its aggressive expansion plans. Robert McCabe joins as Chief Commercial Officer, bringing expertise from Colt Technology Services, where he spearheaded business transformation for high-bandwidth enterprise solutions. Kate Hennessy takes the role of Chief Financial Officer, while TS Narayanan has been named Chief Technology and Information Officer. These strategic hires come as Exa scales operations to meet growing demand for robust connectivity solutions.

The company recently acquired subsea network operator Aqua Comms, enhancing its transatlantic and European network footprint. Additionally, Exa has partnered with Nokia for a 1.2Tbps optical network upgrade and collaborated with IOEMA to boost Northern European connectivity through a new high-capacity submarine cable landing.

Why it’s important

These appointments reflect EXA Infrastructure’s intent to solidify its position as a leading digital infrastructure partner, particularly as demand for high-capacity, low-latency connectivity continues to surge globally. The addition of seasoned executives underscores a focus on commercial innovation, financial discipline, and technological agility.

“With McCabe, Hennessy, and Narayanan joining our leadership team, we are poised to drive the next phase of our evolution,” said CEO Jim Fagan. “Their combined expertise will be instrumental as we scale our platform and extend our reach across key markets.”

As EXA continues to integrate Aqua Comms and invest in its terrestrial and subsea assets, these leadership changes are designed to future-proof the company’s strategy amid an increasingly competitive infrastructure landscape.
